LAGOSIANS SHOULD BEWARE OF DUBIOUS IKEJA ELECTRICITY WORKERS
A building in Ojokoro, Agric- Ikorodu has been power disconnected by some dubious Ikeja Electricity (IE) staff for more than 5 days due to what was described as "lack of cooperation by the residents" by IE staff, on installing prepaid meters.
It was confirmed that the residents of that building were instructed by IE workers to buy normal wire and recline wire worth N24000 (materials believed to have been provided to them already by the company) but due to the agitation
by the residents, the Ikeja electricity's staff threatened not to fix the building's light and attempted to take away the recline wire that was brought into the compound earlier that day by the supervisor after a complaint made by one of the tenants.
It has been understood that when they ask residents to buy wire, they connive with their drivers to keep the materials which have been commissioned already for the fixing of the prepaid meter and sell to anyone willing to buy while they keep the cash to themselves.
"The governor should please see to this and put adequate supervision in order" said a tenant in the building of the above address.
