Since the subsidy of diesel was removed in the year 2012, there has been arbitrary price fixing by the diesel sellers and fuel stations.
Mr. Tunde Adeyeni, a commercial bus driver, said when interviewed that when there is hike in diesel, some independent marketers add kerosene is cheaper and which of course gradually damages their vehicles.
Another drastic way the hike in diesel price affects people is that the commercial bus drivers automatically inflate the transport fares to their passengers which apparently cause discomfort to one's who make use of the commercial vehicles more.
Reports have it that when there is price fluctuation and the price of diesel decreases, people do not take it into consideration as it changes nothing, rather it profits them and they are less concerned but the moment the price increases, they show their anger by complaining about it in a bad-tempered way.
