Lagos state governor, Governor Ambode stated minutes ago on "Your view", a morning show on TVC that individuals who hawk and buy from hawkers on the streets or roads are liable to Six months jail term or pay a fine of N90,000.
He further stated that this new law is taking effect from the 1st of July, warning Lagosians to beware. He said this new law is to curb hawking on streets and street begging as well as sudden deaths, accidents and street robbery.
Ambode added that Lagosians should comply with this law and other laws so as to enjoy what the Lagos government has to offer in addition to the pleasure Lagosians have been receiving.
