Mother And Son In Court For Beating Landlady

A 64-year-old woman, Kudirat Adeshile and his son Adelakun Adeshile, 38 were on Friday arraigned before the Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly beating up their landlady.
The accused who both reside at Aguda, Surulere, faced a two-count charge of conspiracy and attempted murder.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Donjor Perezi, told the court that the offences were committed on June 15 after a fight ensued between the landlady, Mrs Taiwo Adesina, and her tenants.

Sgt Perezi said: “The accused tried to strangle the woman by tying a wrapper so hard on her neck.’’

The accused pleaded not guilty to the offences which contravened Sections 228 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs O.A. Layinka, however, granted bail to the in the sum of N300,000 each, with two sureties in like sum.

The case has been adjourned to Wednesday, July 27
