It has been confirmed that the shootings by Task force officials was caused by Okada riders plying the highway along Agric-Ikorodu, Lagos.
According to IkoroduTownCrier's correspondent, it was reported that several motocycles popularly known as "okada" were seized while their riders were seriously beaten.Due to this, the okada riders colleagues accompanied by some hoodlums started violent protest for the release of their other colleagues and their motorcycles.
The okada riders and hoodlums were armed with stones, broken bottles, cutlasses and therefore using these weapons against the Task force officials which sprung up shootings by the Task force officials as it was getting out of hand. The military got involved in order to put the chaos to an end.
Many traders as well as individuals plying Fela-Hammed road, Agric, have been injured as many properties were also destroyed.
